A 34-year-old South Carolina man was killed after he entered a vacant home with a booby trap set up to shoot him with a shotgun, but cops have theorized the fatal shot was meant for them instead.
The bizarre death occurred when Jordan Dove went to check on a family member's vacant house in Saint Matthews, and a gun rigged to the back door fatally shot him.
Nigger was going to rob his uncle's house ...
Police responded to the incident and Dove was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities then discovered that the booby trap was set so that anyone who entered the back door would be killed.
'This was a very dangerous situation that appeared to be targeted towards law enforcement,' Sheriff Thomas Summers said in a press release.
'It is yet another example of the dangers faced by law enforcement every day,' he added.
Police also discovered that there was no one in the home and the front door was barricaded.
The home was owned by a man named Alfonzo Brown, Dove's uncle. Brown is currently serving time in a Maryland jail on attempted murder charges.
