Congratulations. I've decided to quit too. Turned down going out for drinks with a friend last night. It's a start.

This is honestly the longest i've gone w/o alcohol since I was about 15. Usually I manage to walk the fine line of 'functional alcoholic'.

Same (well I didn't become heavy drinker till mid 20s). In general I've kept it in check with much less this year, but after really fucking up a week ago, I don't want it at all anymore

Proud of you, brother.

One thing at a time, indeed. You have the mind set, stop when you're ready

Just got my 4 year sobriety. Quit smoking pot about 2 months ago. Feel great, dreams are very vivid now, trying to quit smoking cancer sticks though. That’s been a real struggle for me. Great job on the 60 days! Day by day. The longer you abstain, the easier it gets. Life is still going to get tough, but it’s just tougher with a hangover and the feeling failing yourself if you slip. It’s worth dealing with life on life’s terms. The feeling of getting through tough times without resorting to drinking is incredibly rewarding. Keep up the good work!
