They project their niceness on others, they start with the premise the rest of the world is like them, they are light years away from imagining evil schemes. It renders them as "ideal" target in the end, for evil people
Same problem goes with evil people, they project their evilness on others, always scheming/always watching over their shoulders for another good or evil trying to fuck them just like they plan on fucking pretty much everybody else
They are all projecting, in a different way but they all are. Ethnocentrism comes to mind.
In a sense the world around you is a projection of your own mind, deformed by how you are, and what you are/what you think you are. And biologically speaking it works pretty much the same, stuffs you see, pictures in your head, through your eyes, it's "projection" from beginning to end, it's "hollywood" all over the place.
But yeah good people.
