This should be the new slogan. They are both rights and we wouldn’t want to discriminate against anyone who wants to do either. AND we don’t want anyone doing either illegally.

This would require ID, social security number, background check, and answer questions about drug use and prior convictions. Perfect!

That's why I advocate making a voter registration card all that's necessary to purchase firearms. The only way to argue against it is to argue that voter registration is prone to fraud.

This is a great idea!

The gun shop can even offer to register people to vote and then use that as the ID for the firearms purchase.

I have bought guns, in minecraft, using my voter registration card as id.

This crap pops up on social media about it being easier to buy a gun than vote. I keep it simple and remind all that a "government issued form of identification showing name, d.o.b, and current address" is required.

In California it would also require a birth certificate if you do not have a RealID.

I voted yesterday in a state (USA) where they require an ID. I commented "You're suppressing me." The black gal working the table cracked up. Lots of people see through this shit.

What's worse is that the Georgia law doesn't even require ID. If you don't have ID you can use the last four digits of your social security number and birth date. If you don't have a social security number you can use a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or any other government document with your name and address on it. How many people with no ID, no social security number, no paycheck, no government check, no utility bills, no bank statement, and no government document whatsoever are there? Nil. They're not pissed about disenfranchisement, they're pissed that the fraud just got far more difficult.

That’s really my point. Get them to demand it be the same. They need to be lockstep. If one is changed the other is changed.

Clearly reductio ad absurdam. We can't seriously support having to have permission from the FBI every time we vote. Right now pointing out the ID requirement throws their whole point into the trash. They certainly don't want it to be as "easy" to vote as to buy a gun. I call bullshit on this every time I see it.

The constitution guarantees right to keep and bear arms. It doesn’t say the right to vote shall not be infringed.

That's because who can vote and when is left up to the states on purpose.

How about tie the two 5ogether voting laws and gun buying will be interchangeable

I think election day should be April 15th. Show up to the polling place with your completed and signed tax return and trade it for a ballot to place your vote.

Fine by me. Let me add that stupid people should not be allowed to vote. If you're not smart enough to acquire an ID you shouldn't be voting.

I'm in. Let's make this happen.

There's a problem with that. Foreigners can buy guns.
