Thanks!

You're cultivating plants to attract them?

Primarily plenty of milkweed with regular checking for praying mantis and such that could cause problems for them.

In that past few years some praying mantis have been found in checks, but several monarchs had made it. However, last year there were no praying mantis around at all, but also no monarch caterpillars either. This year I found no mantis, but saw several monarchs around.

The seasons being unusual have been causing problems for a lot of plants/trees and animals/insects around me. Timing is way off with a lot of them running late several weeks. As it was yet another strange year, I thought it unlikely to be very different from last year and that there would be no monarchs again. Them being around was a nice surprise.

That is great you're providing a habitat.

Hopefully you'll be seeing more and more visitors as the years progress.
