Nice! Nikons were the best 35mm SLR, in my opinion. Best optics too.

As a 14 year old kid I worked my first job all summer and barely saved enough money to buy my first new Nikon. It was a silver body , the price was $500 back then. I loved that camera. I was the school photographer for 4 yearbooks and have a shitload of family pictures from back in the day. I ordered it from some outfit in NY, NY and waited weeks for it to arrive. 15 years ago some dipshits broke into my house and stole all of my camera gear while I was at work. I had a lot of gear. A good selection of lenses, big selection of filters for b/w and color, starcross, polarizing, soft focus, etc. I was devastated.

Now I'm satisfied with a 14 megapixel 40:1 zoom digital camera that cost under $200 about 8 years ago. No big deal if I break it or it gets stolen.

Wow that really sucks to lose all of that to theft. I love that retro look on those old cameras.

I have all my camera stuff schedule on my insurance in case something happens to it, but old gear like you're talking about that would be a pain to try and hunt that stuff down to replace.

I had a small antique camera collection, gone. All my air tools, gone. My long deceased dad's chainsaw, gone. They cleaned out a lot of things that had tremendous sentimental value. There is no recovery from that. The insurance check was a joke. I still get a sick feeling just thinking about it.
