I don't know a lot of people that make that dish at all. My wife was confused when I explained it to her but that's not her fault.

Seems like most of us that didn't grow up with much in the states had some version of that in our lives. I still make it now and then just because. I have done it with brats too if I have them as leftovers and don't feel like a scramble or something.

Good to know I am not the only one that does this.

It's seen as a white trash food. I grew up very poor, and abused. But my mom would make me it before she died. It's comfort food for me now. When I wife packs it for my lunch, it's the highlight of my entire day.

Yeah, Sounds about right. I wonder how many of us grew up like that.

When you are poor food is food and getting protein is not always as easy. You get it where you can.
