The purpose of the sidebar is to bring information infront of the eyes of the readers and users of a subverse (and search engines).

Information that is in the side bar is more likely to be read than text moved to comments or separate posts (e.g. the About section of ).

In , I have already cut out all lesser essential information that the users don't necessarily need to know on first glance.

But I have hit a wall: There is no section I can move to a separate comment or post anymore, without significantly reducing the quality of the sophisticated side bar text.

Would you consider bumping up the character limit to 10000, 16000 or 20000 characters? That would be very much appreciated.
Not just for me, but for all future users who might hit the 8000 wall at some point.

I was very hesitant to ask, but I see no technical reason against extending it to a higher character limit.
I also really appreciate the new 20 KB CSS space (compared to the 10 KB prior to 2019-12).
I think has already exceeded 10 KB in CSS by now.

Also, what made 8 KB chosen in first place?

Of course, I am thankful that it was not e.g. 5 KB, but even 20000 characters (20 KB) are rather negligible compared to the 2 MB of the CSS image space.

Subs have a wiki option for that purpose.

I know, but I would like the Hall of shame (compact), Welcome, Guidelines, Tips and Flairs sections to directly meet the eye of visitors on first glance or while scrolling.

Side bar is only visible on computer/tablets.

A wiki post stickied would be more efficient.

Ah, you're right.
I didn't think of that for the moment.
