I think what he means is this: I've noticed (since the influx of new users) that the counts are very wrong. For example, a little bit ago I had 3 new inbox messages, something like 44 comment replies and a number of post replies. All but a few comment replies went away with a browser refresh.

We are aware of it. It’s caused by the increase of traffic (caching overload) and we are working on it. Will be fixed later tonight.
