Just saw this, really cool!
I kind of like it.
Now you are just flexing on us, bro.
... nice smooth animation instead of suddenly popping up.
But they close too fast. You need to make them spin a couple of times, then pop closed with a little star burst.
:-)
haha You're gonna get a lot of users mad with that glorious idea.
This is a nice touch.
That's very cool.
Seems pretty pointless. I want my .02 seconds back.
No refund for fags.
Great! You can contact my people and send the check.
This is a global only feature.
i know, but i still don't like it :[
It looks great, but it's a bit much for me. either way, meh.
This is part of the "Experimental Features". No one is forcing you to enable it.
The reason for this animation is that new posts are now nicely pushing the older ones down the new queue instead of having them suddenly jumping down one slot for every new post. In active hours the queue can be refreshed several times in seconds and cause mistakes when a user isn't paying much attention when clicking/taping/voting on the wrong post because they didn't see it getting pushed down.
Zooming animation is awful and I hate it.
It could fade out a little slower. Seems like it just disappears still. Cool function.
Fade out?
It actually does the opposite (fade in) with an increasing opacity.
Sorry man I was a niggerfaggot and didn't properly explain what I meant. Hoping to clarify better.
What I had intended to mean/say was that when closing an item it still is an instant disappear effect for me. I click it and instantly it's gone.
The fade in effect works fine when opening the items. When I tested it, it functioned with the fade in effect after I closed it and opened it again. It just seemed like it was the actual close effect was instant.
I really appreciate your commitment to improving small things and overall want to get better here.
Ok I see, you were talking about the expando.
Yeah, closing it is instant since it saves time when you want to move on to the next post you're interested in.
Adding another little delay to close it felt like a waste of time (I did test it for days and that's how it feels).
It's nice to see it at the beginning, but ends up being annoying after a while.
I'll try a different closing effect with a shorter delay (~0.5s).
