I guess button is a smaller target than the larger text box.

It was missing a focus() that required you to click another time in the text area to start typing.
With that fixed, you have to click only once, exactly like before when you had to directly click in the visible text area.

Works on mobile. Would be nice to have a blue collapse comment box button next to the preview button as now I feel obliged to leave a comment.

TBF, there's no difference as It requires exactly one click to get the same text area, ready to type a comment.
