The man is highly intelligent with a very sophisticated logic system, however he has been ruined by his drug use. I invested an amount of time in his work and the work of his contemporaries, Kerouac Ginsberg ect, and have found it to be unhealthy to be immersed in their degeneracy.
The movement is significant as a cultural phenomenon and really helped me understand post WWII culture, but overall---meh.

Definitely agree. Haven't revisited him in a while. Pretty damn cool how he was already kinda old with the beats and lived till 97, outliving Cobain who he hung with. Have nova express - may read it when I'm finished Crime and Punishment. That or catch 22, another book I've put on the back burner forever
