On the eve of Christmas the goats cried out
"The walls are falling, we'll soon be free"
Then one lonely goat did shout
"This is it, a calamity"
Whereupon wandered a lonesome bear
Hailing from the chilly north
Bearing words of welcome, this wisdom he would put forth:
"The goats that said you'll soon be free have a point, you see" he said with a smile, knowingly
There is more to life than mere captivity
Soon you'll spread out; of course!
And share the knowledge you have received"
"The truth upheld by reason and discourse, this alone is the greatest force!"
"But what of violence and vengeance?" proclaimed the lonely goat
"Is it not our only hope?"
"No" the bear declared
"Hope will keep your dreams afloat, but hope is an open sea underneath a meager boat,"
"The strength of mankind is not his greatest asset, the strength of a man's mind is."
"You will find the way of reason is in the end the kindest."
