Robins in the trees,
Cardinals in the bushes
Rabbits in the field
and raccoons waking up.
Are they alone? I am alone.
Swim ye fish in the ponds,
Croak ye frogs along the creek.
For bitter lights of fireflies,
and twinkling from the stars,
shine on my wet face
with tears that never dry.
