It’s for the family, I said,

It’s for food, betterment, and bed.

Every hour spent away,

To bring lively-hood every day.

———

Two hours commute in the car,

Four hours of meetings with the czar.

A lunch if I’m lucky and back to work,

Four hours or more, oh how it irks.

———

Away with my earnings as soon as they come,

Mortgage, insurance, utilities plus some.

I expect to get peace when sleeping, right?

But nay, I toss and turn every single night.

———

For the children for the wife,

Thus I prostitute my daily life.

But they’re grateful and they’re happy,

Actually, she hates me and they’re bratty.

———

So how did it come, what did I do?

All this time I’ve tried to stay true.

Paying and saving, working and making,

All to do my best at care taking.

———

It’s not enough, they want more,

More money, more house, more from the stores.

I give it all and keep nothing back,

In truth I’ve given up every hobby I have.

———

So I’m left alone with my grief,

I’ve done my best, that I truly believe.

The future a hot furnace,

Made to bring my life to ashes.

———

It’s for the family, I said,

It’s for food, betterment, and bed.

Every hour spent away,

To bring lively-hood every day.

Beautiful. I worked 12 hours today in fact. I don't even really know what day it is most of the time.

All this work and jews think they deserve 30%
