I honestly never understood this point. Seen it expressed in several comics before.
Why is it unfair to expect people to pay their own way? Isn't it unfair to expect me to work for them without compensation? Isn't that slavery and immoral?
How does this make capitalism bad?
It doesn't make capitalism bad. I don't think the meme is intended to.
It shows equality as more fair and equity as most fair. Whereas it locks everyone out in the capitalism window.
As I said, I just don't understand that meme. It doesn't make sense to me.
Sorry. My earlier reply wasn't clear. The meme is designed to show capitalism in a bad light and to people with a sub-par understanding of the world, it does. It's based on a bad premise - that if only people were fair everyone would have the same outcome. That's just not the way the world works, nor will it ever work that way.
