Apparently this happens:

Russian + Donbass forces have given a last ultimatum to Azov in Mariupol, giving them time to surrender until midnight local time (in six hours) From midnight no one will be taken prisoner.

Putin losing patience apparently

Less about patience, and more about deadlines.

Time favors the side thats more ruthless and has the larger logistics network, which is the u.s and its allies.

That the u.s. will lose this conflict is foregone. It's not about who wins at this point, because no one wins attrition warfare.

The only matter to be decided is will russia ALSO lose, and if so, will the russians lose more than everyone else involved?

That depends on how swiftly they act, hence the rush from the beginning.

These limited hours to surrender are a tactical mistake.

They expotentially increase the likelihood that anything could happen, that in desperation, any contingency could come into play.

Better to give them this warning or "time to surrender", and then unexpectedly to attack when they're paralyzed. That is what russia should do.

Russia's kindness in this specific situation, is an absolute weakness, and russia will come to regret this final ultimatum if theres any room for the u.s. and internationalists to respond.

The u.s. and it's allies always like to take the last shameless scrap of margin in a transaction, because they believe theres no cost to doing this, (if none of the players want to flip the table that is), so theres no reason the u.s. won't. "never let a good crisis go to waste."

Zelensky and the internationalists and their spooks in the u.s. have not earned mercy, and have shown they we will use it only to further harm the people of ukraine, russia, and the world--or use it as wiggle room to continue and escalate the fight if they can.

You are possibly right, as usual the issue is how to behave when you are a decent person instead of a ruthless person.

I do not know, I am quite happy not to be Putin and so is possibly the rest of the world

It is anything but decent for a decent person to refuse to be ruthless when ruthlessness is the only thing left to preserve those people and things that are decent and worthy. This was a hard lesson to learn.

In the face of the indecent and ruthless, ruthlessnes in-kind is the most decent thing any of us can resort to. Never suffer exploiters to live.
