I think the two issues are unrelated and conflating them is really just a political maneuver.

The baby formula shortage is caused by a number of things.

  1. The excessive FDA regulations placed on the manufacture of baby formula make it a particularly unprofitable market that only established manufacturers participate in.

  2. Because there are a small number of manufacturers, their congressional lobbying efforts have made formula imports that do meet FDA standards even less profitable through advocating tariffs.

  3. The recent closure of the Abbott plant in Sturgis, MI exacerbated the shortage because of the ongoing investigation of contaminated formula from that plant.

If there weren't stringent regulations on the manufacture of baby formula, people would just be complaining about all the babies getting sick. So there really isn't a winning situation for a government regulator on this issue. They're going to screw somebody regardless.

On the other issues, the proxy war with Russia needs to be funded IF you believe that is the correct strategic course of action. I honestly don't care because the US is just a nigger and spic factory nowadays anyway. I would support the US efforts if I still felt like I was invested in America's future.

These issues are unrelated and conflating the two undermines the truth. The truth is that there are two parallel globohomo societies fighting for global control that simultaneously want you to think that you should be dependent on a central economy to sort out the supply of products they want you to be reliant on.

The only way to cope is to keep honing self sufficiency because the idiots that are running this country will eventually deplete their stock of productive citizenry they depend on.
