Except a gas-powered car can only use gas (maybe ethanol if you have the ability to replace some parts). There's no other way to fuel it, not even with extra steps. That's what makes an electric car more flexible. When SHTF you will have the choice to use the extra steps and keep on driving with an electric car. You will not have those options with a gas car.
