That's kind of cool. I wish more companies would do stuff like this.

When a game is so old that you can't possibly have a reason to not release the source you just should. Other people can then study it, build their own ports, make patches, etc...

I have a feeling that it was in a contract somewhere otherwise I would never expect this. Other than that maybe they have a old-school dev that is now a manager and just said "we are doing it, fuck you".

It'd be nice to be able to think they learned from their Sim City disaster...but the only thing I can really take away from this is those are it from EA. It's up to us to continue things...IN SPACE! Those live action sequences in the RA series are chef's kiss cheesy because I don't give a wooden nickel about your legacy.
