That's kind of cool. I wish more companies would do stuff like this.

When a game is so old that you can't possibly have a reason to not release the source you just should. Other people can then study it, build their own ports, make patches, etc...

Warzone 2100 including all its assets were made open source by Eidos years ago. It is an RTS and I liked it. Runs a treat on Linux.

I think this model of OSS old games is a good one. Warzone has some welcome improvements made after liberation and the bugs keep getting treated. It's high quality.
