Disability can be tolerated at best, but never accepted. It is not possible, because from an evolutionary perspective, disability equals a death sentence.

Even if, in stone age, a disabled individual managed to survive, their ability to mate is pretty much demolished due to their disability.

Acceptance of their conditions should never be expected from the disabled. There is no such thing as acceptance of disability (whoever claims otherwise is fooling themselves), except possibly in the mentally ill.

I dont expect them to accept it, but I do expect them not to drive their family away with their toxic rage, as was the case with my father in law.

His jealosy and resentment towards his own son I have no doubt stems from his disability. He is a narcissist and its obvious that his injury and subsequent paralysis was a huge narcissistic wound which he made his son pay for every day.

I guess what Im saying is you arent doing yourself favors by pitying someone soley based on disability.
