you know better than to downvote people for opinions you don't like. That's not the Poal culture. Use your words.
I haven't learned about that. I joined when this was originally designated as a back up for when voat was down, but haven't gotten acclimated. What's the thinking on downvoting? I am trying to ask and learn so I can do better.
I down vote fuck heads that promote shills, disinformation, and post asinine useless drivel.
Now THAT I can understand!
Sure. Downvoting is a form of censorship. This is a free speech site, so we don't censor opinions we dislike we only censor spam, off topic or illegal posting. As an example, this is s/QStorm so if I posted something about fishing lures that would be off topic and you should censor me. If I posted how you can make your dick bigger with this one simple trick go to www.scamyou.dolt that's spam and you should censor it. If you don't believe in God and I say "God is real" don't downvote it, use your words to disagree, or ignore it, or tell me I'm a tier useless faggot and move on. That's the poal way.
What this leads to is much less of an echo chamber. I regularly upvote content I disagree with if it's well written, or fits with the topic. On the bottom left of your screen are two links that mention our downvote policy and other helpful information to get acclimated, but I'll include them for your convenience.
Perfect. That is completely helpful. I'll read and lurk around some more. Thank you.
Hmm, it's "censorship" to indicate to others that you think something is crap or should appear lower in the response list.
Interesting definition of censorship.
If anything, disallowing people from downvoting would be the censorship.
Very 1984 Newspeak to call downvoting "censorship."
