I'm not looking for work, but I still get emails to my job mail. Supposedly, these places are just desperate for people (they're not, they're just complaining as usual,) but they're sending out recruiting mails en masse. I get this today:

The Component Test Technician will work in Delaware AC Power Facility RCAR / Code 15 Area. This position will focus on field component returns for RCAR analysis and code 14/15 returns. This position will support RCAR for NA region and will report to Vertiv Services Technical Support Tier 2/3 with dotted line report to AC Power Quality.

What the fook is that supposed to mean? What's a code 15 area? What are code 14/15 returns? The post doesn't tell you what you're working on, with, what the pay rate is, nothing about the job other than some boilerplate electrical-related boilerplate.

If a company can't tell me what they want without using a lot of internal jargon, then they earn a place in the deleted emails folder.

According to people I know at this location, those are the actual terms the company uses for the job. It's just they don't mean anything outside the company.

It was like working for Ma Bell. I still have the job description for my old position (it was a direct copy of the contract description) and had gems like "Working with T, SC, SD, ED, BNJ, and other packs." No idea what that meant at the time.
