According to movies, there is this idea that all widowers are secretly savvy people who know everything about dating, and who can sweep everyone off their feet, and bullshit here, bullshit that. I decided to actually look up the re marriage rate of widowers and widows alike and it is a whomping 12% for men, and something like 5% for women. Well the reality of the matter is that the media lies about widowers all the time, and this forces a very poor perception of those people onto others. And I've noticed this a lot too, a lot of idiots out there are of the theory of STFU and don't talk about it anymore, or when you do date someone, they just treat it like some kind of ex you need to get over. And it's the same for all the categories be it gays (2% or less), trans (under 1%), black on white dating (my personal guess is that the actual rate is under 10% of total population), these tiny fucking minorities are scapegoated and brushed into whatever the fuck is convenient at the time. I also wouldn't be surprised if the re marriage rate of widows/widowers was higher int he early 1900s when we still followed some sense of Biblical laws
