I was talking to someone from Jersey, and he mentioned the gun laws in Jersey, how strict they are, etc. So I mentioned my state has no gun laws except whatever the federal ones are, and even those are rarely followed properly. So he started ranting about background checks, and stuff. He mentioned how he hates background checks, but likes the mental background check Jersey does to buy guns. So he's against a less restrictive, relatively instant background check, in favor of a nebulous, closed book, no one really knows what the fuck is going on background check provided by the state instead?

I was explaining that a background check is in and of itself a violation of my rights, but i didn't get very far on that one. I know wishing suffering on people is harsh, but with this attitude, its really not surprising why Jersey residents lost all their gun rights.

The thing is Jersey has some of the most convoluted laws when it comes to guns. The laws are so convoluted, no one even knows what is and is not a crime anymore when it comes to guns there

That's on purpose. That way when a white man defends himself, his family, his property, the "law" can charge him with "gun crime". Make unconstitutional "gun laws" so convoluted that no one knows what is and is not a crime, then those running the system can twist anything around to either be very severe against someone or lenient. Depending on what their end goal is.
