Sure I can afford it, but I can't believe I just spent 4 dollars on a pack of hotdog buns.

brah, I get it, but I just needed some fucking hotdog buns on short notice.

I actually do own and use a bread machine, but I never tried to make hotdog buns.

You need to check the proportions but you got to go with a brioche recipe with a little bit of milk in your dough. Just before the end of the baking you brush your buns with a mix of egg yolk and water to dilute a bit. It will give you the nice silky brown Finnish. Wet them before putting them in the oven will prevent them cracking. Best of luck with your trying

I've made brioche rolls before (without the machine), good idea using it for buns!

But tbh, I usually don't have the time for that.

Maybe make the time. I don't know your schedule evidently but if slowing down is possible for you, do it. I've been in a hurry for far too long. I've slowed down only because of the circonstances but now that I wish I knew that life on slow mode is also enjoyable. It gives you time to think and manage your time in a way that is more full filing.
