You’ll start off living in your childhood bedroom for a few years, but soon enough you’ll be making a decent salary and racking up pension credit. You’ll chase ambulances and possibly never even have to “fight a fire.” Service calls are all it’s about. Your friends and family can help keep your department funded by creating calls for service. Mark those down. Keep getting more funding because you’ve created a “necessary service” and before you know it, you can be 48 and retired with benefits and a pension. Easy!
