It just popped into mind. Pertaining to the rhetoric behind the title. My thoughts wandered to "What happens to all the groids?"

Vastly soulless creatures. I wonder, where do they spend the eternal sleep?

Likely the other direction. But that isn't really fair because they didn't stand a chance. We don't know. Life is weird, death even horrifically moreso.

I'm semi-religous. Love the teachings, hate the practices. And I have many, many questions no preacher can truthfully answer. Because they too have these unanswerable questions. I doubt the whole heaven/hell thing, it's likely just a big sleep... Possibly more.

Listen, and pay special attention to a certain experience she describes as it relates directly to your question. It's a difficult podcast, she is old, but what she describes 4 or 5 minutes in is what you are looking for.

By many accounts, not all people on earth are/have human souls as we might assume, being instead a single point of awareness lacking any deeper individual spiritual, immortal soul essence.

The NPC. And they can look like anyone.
