Standard cooking of meals was a staple with my mom, grandma, etc, it was practically accepted that women would be the ones cooking in a marriage or LTR. Whilst I lucked out with my GF, I have found most women are beyond trash when it comes to even the most basic household chores. Anything beyond cooking pasta has become a blanket mystery to most women, and they expect praise for messing up even the most basic of actions

There are plenty of historical warrior cultures where cooking was always done by the men.
