Since they phased lead out of gasoline in the 70s people have become increasingly dumb. They've refactored the SAT tests multiple times since then which shows the overall decrease in intelligence. The whole educational system in the west has been on a decline since them and it is to the point now where basic addition and subtraction is difficult for most adults. Frankly without a cell phone most people are totally lost and baffled by everyday tasks. Few can even read a map and have the memory of a fruit fly but the excess fat of a hippopotamus.
