After she got air in the tire, I was then accused of "sabotaging" the machine so I could feel empowered.

woman had a flat tire and was struggling. she had the air valve open so the tire was LOSING pressure when trying to air up. I regrettably did the white guy thing and offered to help.

Well good for you but I still dont get it. Tires have a valve stem. It has to open to add air.

The pressure release valve on the compressor was stuck open and hissing air out of it. There was no compressed air in the machine. So when the little adapter went over the valve stem on the tire, she thought she was airing it up but was actually deflating the tire.
