The standards and libraries seem to change every minute. I just got done exploring a WebRTC upgraded library and everything about the package was broken, it doesn't install right, it has cryptic non existent documentation, half the features are missing, it has no support for native of any kind. But somehow im supposed to now get excited for THIS product over some other crap box dev framework. Say what you want about backend systems, but most of the feature lines are stable and don't change often, not gonna find myself having to relearn what GET does anytime soon

Yep, mobile development is the same. I don't know if it's just our company or everyone but no good ui component/control library to use or customize. So most simple things like buttons or date pickers we end up making ourselves then for iOS stuck using their shitty design specific controls.

So many man hours spend wasted on building stuff that should already be available. It's current year, I don't want to have to design a button that has popup menu from scratch.

I miss plain old desktop applications but they're dying off now.

Desktop apps are making a comeback from what i can tell. There are a LOT of application ideas I can come up with where mobile/front end first or even distributed mobile apps isn't even possible to do. The one mobile application im working on, im using flutter and im really close to rage quitting over how finnicky this piece of crap is. The problem is the alternatives are even worse to use
