I guess I get what I pay for but good grief. It presented very well, very clean, all the keys had spring still left in them. It was a Lenovo laptop which I like because of the mouse configuration. My heart died a little bit when I pulled it out of the box and saw that it was qc'd by some mud nigger. And I wasn't let down by what my heart felt. Oh well big waste of time. I've got an old HP laptop from about 12 years ago with Linux mint on it that while it doesn't work great it still works so I'll just use it until it eats itself which hopefully won't be for another couple more years. My old laptop can be fixed seeing it needs a motherboard but I'm not 100% sure how to do that without really fucking it up so I'm going to hold on to the laptop still and maybe want to have some more time I can work on it with a buddy buy him a six pack of something. Well actually he can do it all and I can just buy him a six pack. Anyway rant over.

That sucks but you shouldn't give up. Amazon warranties that stuff real good. I have bought 2 dash cams this way in the past couple months. The first one "like new condition" showed up in a pristine box but it was broken when I opened it. They replaced it in just a couple days with a perfect one and I had no problems with it. The second I just bought last week and I'm pretty certain it's actually brand new. It is flawless and functions perfectly.

I'll get online and look again but I'm leaving my dad's place in 2 weeks and I might not have enough time to wait around for the new one to arrive.

When I needed a replacement it arrived in just a couple days. Also, you can always change your shipping address to wherever it is you are going. Good luck to you.

A good point. I've been really relying heavily on Amazon locker over the past couple of months with great results.

Company I used to work for bought a bunch of "refurbished" HP off-lease computers from Amazon, against my recommendations. They saved something like $50 per unit as opposed to buying a newer model with a real warranty, and I'm sure had we pressed our rep we could have got a match on price, or some perks.

We get them, the "refurbishing" was spraying them liberally with flat black paint that was about the quality of dollar store primer. About 1/3 didn't do anything at all, the rest worked but booted so slowly that there had to be something wrong with them. Don't care, buy junk get junk.

Yeah, As I posted above. If you buy refurb, buy them direct from the company. Lots of companies have their own refurb outlet. I have not had any problems with Lenovo. YMMV.

By Refurbs direct from the company. Lenovo has a Refurb outlet and I have never had a problem buying from them. The last one they sent actually had more ram and a larger HDD than what I bought listed.

Really? Never knew this. I'll take a look.
