I actually don't blame them for their behavior.
There used to be an implicit promise in the US, that no matter what job you had, if you worked hard and diligently, you would be able to move up in your job, take care of yourself/and your family, and live at least a comfortable life.
If you took care of the company, the company would take care of you.
I used to believe this myself when I started in the workforce, and believed my hard work would pay off.
Guess what? If you work twice as hard as anyone else, they will realize that, and cut one person from your shift, so you now have double the workload. I'd be fine with that if they doubled the pay, but they never did.
Working hard for the company is a sucker's game, and I can't begrudge people for realizing that.
All by design. They recruited millions of low skill, low IQ immigrants to work for low wages. Oh, you want an entry level job to learn skills whilst supporting yourself? Go fuck yourself, Muhammad will take $3 less per hour and is on free government healthcare so I don’t have to pay insurance premiums for him. And he gets a housing stipend, cash benefits and food stamps, so when it all calculates out he will be better off than you, white man. And I get to look good at the shareholder meeting. Fuck off, whitey!
