The real shame of it all is the lost potential. Tolkien's work is amazing. There are certainly some great stories that could have been adapted from "The Silmarillion". Peter Jackson did a wonderful job on LOTR (Hobbit not so much), if something of that quality was made here it would have been a raging success. That is what the fans deserved. I haven't watched any of it. I'm still debating if I want to see this train wreck myself.
