I'm too far to protest, but I have canceled my Disney plus subscription and I will definitely not be going back there. Splash mountain was my favorite ride because it was the first ride that my son could name. Every year that we went back, we would spend a couple of days of our trip going on nothing but that ride (it is also a great one on a hot day).
One time we were there near Halloween and we got the package where they kick everyone out of the park except those who purchased a pass that lets you stay in there for several hours with not many people at all.
Most people were ignoring rides because every character and most employees were handing out Halloween candy, and these idiots who paid hundred of dollars to be there were lining up for dollar store candy.
There was no line to get onto Splash Mountain we just had to walk to the front and get on. When our ride finished, there was still nobody there. The employees asked us if we wanted to go again, we said yes and we just stayed on the log all by ourselves. We must have gone 20-30 times back to back without ever having to leave our seats. Seeing how much fun my son had is one of my fondest memories.
We had the picture package that was tied to your wrist bands so we got many pictures of us going down. We didn't get all of them because that was the early days of that technology so we ended up not getting some of our pictures and got a bunch of pictures of empty rides and such.
Splash Mountain not being there means I won't be there with my family spending tens of thousands of dollars.
