Possibly. Many animals also enjoy the effects of alcohol produced by rotting fruit. Humans figured out how to manufacture it which created its own set of problems and those who couldn't handle it removed themselves from the gene pool. Same thing happened with lactose. Germans fed their infants cows milk despite it not being suitable for children under 1 year of age (goat milk is better). As a result many died but subsequent generations had no lactose intolerance. Germanic people are the most lactose tolerant of all European peoples.
I was reading a story about these monkeys (not the pavement variety). They would steal drinks from tourists at these resorts. I was dying laughing seeing videos of little monkeys running from the beach back into the jungle with a daqurie or margarita a quarter of their size while being chased by fat tourists.
So a biologist did a study on the population and found the ammout of non-drinkers, social drinkers, heavy drinkers and those drink alcoholicly were exactly proportionate to our society. Never thought feeding a blended cocktail to a monkey would make my bucket list but I need to see this first hand someday.
