This is fallacious reasoning. Just because 97.5 percent of water is in the oceans already does not mean sea levels can not rise by ice melting. If it became 98 or 98.5 percent, etc. the level would rise.

You should think a little bit yourself before accusing someone of fallacious reasoning. If ice is in water, it's volume is already accounted for in the level of the water because, duh, it's in the water!!!!

OK let's math Mr glowie.

100% ice melt.

About 1000 years in the future

Ave water depth on earth is 2700m deep. Therefore a 2.7% further addition of water is an extra 73m increase in water levels.

Except :

-.7% locked as groundwater lakes etc. Already melted and physically unable to enter the ocean.

This leaves 2% possible.

Except 1.7% is already in the ocean as ice and won't raise Sealevels.

So 1000 years with 100% melt. (not actually possible = 10m rise.

Which explains why after 100 years of muh globalism scare mongering we haven't seen sea level rises.

The ocean is basically already at max height.

What is the greater threat is soil erosion and tectonics.
