Applying 12 volts, all looking good here... hey wait a minute, why is my 12v rail slowly decaying... POP!
68 uF electrolytic installed backwards. Would have taken off like a rocket if it weren't for my hand being in the way. Still have the mark.

I once blew up the tip of a wire when I was discharging the filter caps in one of my amps. I immediately put my tools down, grabbed a beer, and called it a night. High tension is fun.
