If a civilization is advanced enough to be listening for a signal across multiple spectrums (think radio bands) and technologies (RF, Laser, smoke signals, whatever) - then able to triangulate our location we should be very afraid. I wouldn't suggest they could make it to us, or would even bother to reply, but it doesn't mean they might not set a dinosaur-killing sized asteroid our way knowing in 1,000 years it could help keep us (as a competitor for resources) pushed down, or eliminate us completely. I expect interstellar space is likely a kill or be killed, eliminate any competition place.
