They spent 10 billion on a camera that creates 6 diffraction points on every star.
Its interfering with the very thing they were hoping to "see."
Imagine holding a mirror to your face, while wearing sunglasses and somebody takes a photo of your face from a long distance through the mirror. Your arm, holding the mirror up, actually shows up in a reflection on your sunglasses and is now showing up in the picture
Instead of moving your fucking arm out of the way to take the photo, or hiding your arm, they just go with that.
So NASA builds 3 armatures into a 10bln camera to hold a lense up in a similar manner. And that is why we have a six sided star illuminating off of every star in the photo.
