In the past they mainly used coal. I grew up in Germany, I remember. Germany has plenty of domestic coal.
Well, ofcourse they do. they have coal seam gas that would last them a century as well but muh climate will put an end to that before it even starts. They will freeze to death before they would burn coal to stay warm.
Does fuck all when the coal is in the ground and all the boilers and electric generation has been converted to run on "cleaner burning" natural gas.
The US has an estimated 400 years of coal reserves yet everything we mine is shipped to China because we shut down all our coal plants because of the climate change hoax. We are the same as Germany.
My Oma had a fireplace, and the coal was delivered once a month, right down the chute into the basement. I hauled the coal bucket many times. The building's hot water boiler was also coal-fired, as were the radiators (steam). It was dirty back then, but today we have 'clean' (kinda) ways of filtering the chimneys.
my wife's grandfather used to fight the niggers as a kid for the coal that fell off the trains in Newark during the depression. Looks like those good old times are coming back.
