Unfortunately carbon dating is bullshit so we don’t really know how old this is.

IM actually with you on this. Carbon dating relies on C14 being at constant levels in the atmosphere and consequently in organic matter accumulated during life processes. Unfortunately it's doubtful C14 is a constant level at all times in earths history. The level of C14 in the atmosphere can be changed by meteorite strikes, volcanic activity and other types of phenomenon. So there is no real way to say if the levels of C14 present today was the same as present 5000 years ago or 5 million years ago. It is just assumed that the levels are the same.

Yeah , but the science is settled

Couldn't one check ice cores from Antarctica or Greenland?

See if the C14 seems constant between layers or if it's jumping around all over the place every few inches in the core sample?

That's what they attempt to do. But we only have ice cores that go back so far. No one knows if that is actually a real historical record either. Ice ages and warming periods can wipe the record effectively and it also assumes that the c14 levels at the poles accurately reflect the c14 levels at all localities at all times.

Not surprised really. Most likely a cycle of civilizations rise fall and the history being forgotten.

Yeah, but the science was settled! ;-)

"her calf"?! That's a mighty presumptious statement.

Mmmmmmm , Mammoth !

there's hundreds of similar discoveries that put humans in the Americas even earlier

there was a company drilling for oil that found an axe like tool with wooden handle deep in the Earth, in a layer a rock that was supposedly 2.5 million years old

Most of the anthropological evidence advertised as the "earliest" are in deserts and caves due to preservation.

The “Native Americans “ made damn sure to kill any further scientific exploration of The Kennewick Man and call themselves the only people to have walked here.

They couldn’t pull the card otherwise.

this has been presented before and dismissed. MODERN humans aka the clovis people arrived 12800 to 13300 years ago. Prior to that we have no settlements, no tools, no arrowheads, only broken mammoth bones.

So if there were humans prior to the clovis people moving to the continent they went extinct before the clovis arrived and they were likely a different species of human. Such as homo habilis or homo floresiensis

If it were a different hominid then where are the skeletal remains from them? It is illogical to dismiss homosapiens for lack of evidence and suggest a different species with no evidence.

we dont have a single skeletal remain from before 13,200 years ago in the americas homo sapien or otherwise. it is much more common to find evidence of humans instead of the actual remains. See the posted article where they use broken mammoth bones as evidence of human presence.

Evidence of the clovis people is mostly the result of the iconic spear tips.

if humans were around for 37 thousand years and these people were the direct Ancestors of modern American Indians they would have had sufficient IQ to be using sophisticated tools and those tools would be in the fossil record.

We have more advanced technology than cavemen yet no real evidence that we are smarter. Tools are a technology, and technology spreads. It is not intrinsically linked to an IQ. Cultures evolve faster than species. So using that as a basis of speciation is silly.
