The shared center of gravity of the earth and the moon is not centered on the earth, so as the moon pulls on the earth and creates a bulge on one side, the other side of the earth is pulling in the opposite direction. Hence a symmetrical bulge. Definitely not a topic worthy of a 14 minute video.
