I don't think so. The cure would be worth millions I'm sure. But once the patient is cured then you loose your customer. Research and treatment is worth trillions of dollars annually worldwide and your customer base is always there for you. They never go away unless your cure them.

You're explaining why current producers of cancer treatments won't invent a cure. That doesn't explain why a third party wouldn't invent a cure.

The third party you speak of is in cancer research, which is a multi billion dollar industry. They are not interested in finding a cure because they will then loose all their funding to do more research. If they should happen to stumble onto a cure it would be immediately shelved to continue doing more research to keep raking in that cash. I have seen actual cures that have gone to the FDA and CDC for approval to just disappear and never be heard of again. (Kanzius)
