With that said I think the fact super conductors exist means that perpetual motion exists. But you can't extract extra energy from it, which is the implication in what is colloquially called a perpetual motion machine.
Exactly. Even the "heat death" of the universe often mentioned is perpetual motion (heat), not absolute zero.
I skimmed the transcript and apparently these crystals transform back and forth between states, apparently not losing energy. So no "friction". It's not a perpetual motion energy machine, just s dumb buzzwordy description. They describe some other states after that e.g. things staying at one half rather than spreading to the whole space as you might expect. I think the states are interesting to a quantum physicist but of a fairly technical, specialized nature.
