All new rooftops. And it doesn't have to be white either, most heating is from infrared. All it has to do is reflect infrared and it would have huge benefits regardless of global warming propaganda.

There are thousands of new houses in my area with pitch black roofs because it looks cool with teslas or hybrids in the drive.

White paint on rooftops is a brilliant idea because it will lower cooling costs. It is kind of ridiculous that we have dark rooftops everywhere.

This was the norm and began broad adoption. The government then created a ton of government housing for blacks and Mexicans and all the roofing was white. White roofs became associated with government housing and harmful destructive residents. It damaged property values. Now many places won't allow white roofing.

Yet white roofing is effective and if they really wanted to lower energy costs (muh global warming) some shade of white roofing would have been mandated decades ago.

Nifty. Barium Sulfate coatings have been demonstrated to cool surfaces somewhat before, but can't withstand the elements. I guess these guys have gotten it into a paint formula without ruining its heat-emissive properties.

At night the sun is down and there is no difference because it is not reflecting the sun to "cool" your house.
