They love to talk about early warning sensors to save people and then never actually use them to warn anyone. Thinking about this, it occurs to me New York never used its warning system during 9/11, Hawaii never bothered to use theirs. In fact, I can't think of any event in the last 50 years or so where anyone was warned about anything (ok, hurricanes).
