And what does that achieve? Murdered person can not be resurrected. Stolen stuff by some meth head went away for couple of bucks and then again and again and who the hell knows where it is now so it will never be found and returned. Drug crimes? Firstly go into any food store and look at alcohol and cigarette abundance. They give no shit about public health. But that's the reasoning behind drug laws. Secondly, if person wants to do something with his body, then it is his personal choice - making tattoos, riding racing bike, parachute jumping or snorting coke - all these activities have some danger involved, but as a reasonable free society, shouldn't we respect personal choices people make even if it puts them in danger? Overall there is no need for hierarchical government and their armed dogs that treats their citizens as juvenile peasants. Educated, reasonable, intelligent people can govern themselves, but probably that is the day that never comes.
I am no copsucker, but they do have their uses. As bad as crime is now, imagine how bad it would be with zero cops. Haiti.
murdered person cannot be resurrected
so, don't bother finding the killer? Seriously?
Murder is forbidden for centuries. Does it helps prevent it? Punishments are useless for regulating antisocial behavior, because they don't do any correction, they are just being revenge type thing, for mob mainly, to comfort their primitive need for justice in this world so they can keep on their pathetic existences. Person kills another person and then spends 70 years in prison sustained by taxpayers money - it is useless for both killer and community.
It's more about ways to correct behavior via intervention after finding a killer.
If someone murdered your loved one, you would be singing a much different tune.
And it is not 'useless' for the community to lock up someone that might murder again, are you high?
